Welcome to C & S Photography
Our Story
What began as a simple idea — building a wildlife hide for my own quiet moments with nature — quickly grew into something much bigger. With my husband stepping in as the ever‑reliable “go‑for”, “can you just…”, and all‑round maintenance man, and my 10‑year‑old grandson bringing boundless enthusiasm and curiosity, the project soon took on a life of its own.
As word spread among family and friends, I realised that even on the days when my camera stayed at home, simply sitting in the hide brought a sense of calm and genuine mental‑health benefits. This, combined with our shared love for wildlife, sparked the creation of C & S Photography (Charlie & Sharran) — a family‑run venture built on passion, patience, and the joy of experiencing nature together.
The Hide
The hide is fully equipped for comfort and focus, two port holes which enable either sole occupancy or 2 photographers, sound‑proofing, heating, gimbal heads, a camping toilet, a camp bed, a kettle — and of course, a stash of biscuits to keep you going. We keep a gentle surveillance on the hide around the clock, helping us understand when wildlife is most active. While every visit is a little different and sightings can’t be guaranteed, that unpredictability is part of the magic of nature.
Hide Use Disclaimer
For the safety of our visitors and the wellbeing of the wildlife, all guests must remain inside the hide at all times unless there is an emergency. The toilet provided is for urine only. Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited. Please keep noise to an absolute minimum throughout your stay to avoid disturbing the animals.
You will be collected and taken to and from the hide at the times agreed in advance. Guests must not venture near the lake or explore any other areas of the site. Children under 18 years old are welcome but must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.
